Psychological consultation is a time-limited therapeutic process used to help individuals and families identify, target, and resolve specific delays, challenges, and conflicts that impact child development, mental wellbeing, family and social relationships, work success, and overall quality of life. The goal is to give individuals a solid understanding of the factors contributing to the specific delays or problem(s) and equip them with a comprehensive set of tools and strategies that they can continue to use to address these issues.

Examples of psychological consultation services include:

  • Early autism intervention strategies for promoting language and engagement

  • Socialization strategies for helping children, teens, and adults overcome anxiety and limited peer connections

  • Behavioral management strategies for addressing tantrums, defiance, aggression, and self-injury

  • Executive-functioning and time management strategies for improving school and work performance

  • Self-care, household, and other adaptive skill strategies for promoting independence
